Like all charities, CICRA's trustees are the team that are ultimately responsible for the organisation.
All our trustees have a strong connection to our cause, either through personal experience, or in their professional capacity (such as working as a health professional), but what is most important is that they want to help children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and their families.
This is a really exciting time for CICRA. In the past year we have undertaken significant change: we have developed an ambitious ten-year strategic plan, and we are growing our reputation as a passionate champion of the voice of children and young people with IBD. In 2018 we have developed a whole range of new information, increased the support we offer for different stages of childhood and celebrated forty years of ground-breaking research. Our plans for 2019 include new and exciting projects on very early onset IBD and information for 11-14 year old young people with IBD, as well as further increasing our support for families and funding new research.
We are looking for new trustees to join our board and help drive our development and growth further.
What are we looking for?
The most important quality we are looking for in a trustee is a commitment to the objectives of CICRA, to realise our vision of a childhood unlimited by IBD. You may be a parent of a child or young person with Crohn's or colitis, or you may be someone who supports us and want to use your professional expertise in a voluntary capacity.
The difference you could make is by helping the charity plan for the future, by helping to make sure we are run efficiently and effectively, CICRA will be able to do more for children with IBD.
This is an opportunity to work with a well respected charity and to make a big difference for children and families affected by Crohn's and colitis.
