We asked families who attended our recent IBD Family Day how they rated their experience, this is what they said:
The professionals and CICRA organisers were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and approachable and it was fab to meet other parents and children too.
We came away from the day feeling like we were not alone and had some good, solid information to help us support our daughter.
Invaluable! Our consultant gave us the CICRA pack when Daniel was diagnosed and it has been worth its weight in Gold
I would thoroughly recommend the CICRA Family Day to anybody who has a child with IBD.
Very informative and made us realise we are not the only ones going through this.
The experience share was outstanding.
I would like to say a massive THANK YOU for Saturday, it was a great day. Everybody was so friendly and welcoming. We all came away very positive and with lots of information.
After 23 years as an Occupational Therapist in the NHS, with all its present struggles, it was good to have the opportunity to be part of the CICRA Family Day, and to reflect on the good work being done by many to improve the lives of others, and certainly the fundraising and commissioning of research, and to know how it’s being used, and what is being done, gave us both heart and hope for the future. Thank you
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the Family Information Day, and I was impressed by the level of organisation, and the commitment of the CICRA leaders and the guest speakers who presented and facilitated workshops.
Very good, a good chance to learn more about Crohn’s Disease and listen to others talk about their experiences.
All the speakers were useful in covering different aspects of what patients’ and their families need to know about the disease and also giving support and importantly, hope.
It was great to mix with other parents and great to be able to ask questions from a range of experts. Our son really enjoyed the children’s entertainment.
Information was good from the professionals and a chance to ask questions. All the sessions I attended were excellent. It was a privilege to be able to chat to the clever, talented doctors and scientists in such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and to learn from their answers to the many questions asked.
This was our first meeting with CICRA. The day more than met our expectations. We look forward to attending further meetings.
Wow, fantastic day with mountains of information, loads of thanks to the team behind all the organisation. We really feel supported and full of hope.
We had a fabulous day and so pleased we were able to attend as we feel so much better informed. Thank you from all of us for such a brilliant day.
The 16+ group was well led and valuable topics were covered.
Thank you for today it was amazing and opens my mind up to the whole world of Crohns disease and that it’s not just me! Thank you so much for boosting my confidence to and I can go into the world not being afraid.
Our son was blown away by not being alone and that lots of other completely normal kids are in the same or a worse position. He particularly commented on being able to share his experiences with people going through the same thing.
We had a fantastic day. Everybody made us feel so welcome and were so warm and friendly, we felt completely comfortable. Listening to the young adults stories and listening to the professionals. The afternoon discussion groups gave us the opportunity to ask questions in smaller groups, a very informative day.
Excellent – a really positive and informative day, many thanks.
I would rate the day as Excellent, the venue was lovely, the lunch was good and it was nice to be relaxed and learning at the same time.
It was my first experience at a Family Day and I found it very informative. I was impressed with how well organised the whole event was, from the initial invite to finishing on time. Everybody made us feel very welcome and everyone was very friendly. Lovely venue.
It was a very positive experience and we would like to take part in the next possible family day.
It was very informative and everyone was lovely. I wish this day had been available in our area when my daughters were first diagnosed in 2011.
After persuading our son to stay for the young people’s group he said he found it really useful. Over the following days bits of information came out which he can relate to and realise he isn’t the only one feeling like him
The presentations in the morning were well pitched for the audience, informative and interesting.
My daughter came away very positive and fascinated by the similarities and differences of people’s experiences and presentations, and the day built on her ‘everything is still possible’ attitude, and we’re grateful for that. I don’t think the day could have been improved upon for her.
My son found the 16+ session very interesting, being able to hear the experiences of other people of a similar age.
Our next IBD Family Day will take place in Exeter on Saturday 4th October 2014.
