Our thanks to Nicola Cooper who has set herself an extremely tough challenge of trekking 24 peaks in 24 hours on 5 & 6 June 2015. Nicola tells us why she has chosen to raise funds for CICRA:
“I have several family members and friends who have been diagnosed with the condition and know first-hand how difficult it can make life. It does not discriminate and the effects on sufferers and their families can be devastating.
The challenge is a tough one, covering 24 peaks in 24 hours (all over 2400ft) in the Lake District. It requires a great deal of fitness and those of you who know me know that fitness is not my forte! I have given up my 20 a day smoking habit (3 weeks now and counting!) and have even put in place a proper training plan to ensure I can do this.
I am paying for the trek myself to ensure that every penny I raise goes to this very worthy charity.”
