In 2006 our daughter, Samantha, was diagnosed with Crohn’s. After the initial what, why and how, intense research on the internet followed and there we found CICRA. Right from the start, CICRA have supported and helped us come to terms with this terrible condition, for which there is no cure and helped us to help Sam live a normal and fulfilling life.
Crohn’s is debilitating for all who suffer from it, but even more difficult for a child. Over the years of various treatmen…ts, CICRA have been there at the end of the phone, not just for us but for all parents, willing to talk about any little thing that has been bothering us at the time. Their personal knowledge and experience of the condition helps them to offer advice and we have yet to ask something that they have not been able to help with.
Since I joined Leicester Walking Club in 1976 my goal has been to become a Centurion – an exclusive club for those who have completed a recognised 100 mile Race Walk under IAAF rules within 24 hours. Training began nearly two years ago and I am now ready to enter the race of my life and raise, with your help, as much money as possible for CICRA. The race starts at midday on the 6th of August 2016.
Finally, thank you in anticipation for your support. I have set a goal of £10,000 – a serious amount of money I know, but with everyone’s help it could be possible.
